In this project, we aimed to express the emotions surrounding broken love—separated, fragmented, and lingering in the shadows. Our goal was to create a design that feels dark and reflective, encapsulating the melancholy of a love that no longer thrives. To convey this, we chose a somber color palette and depicted a melancholic street scene, setting the tone for the project’s theme of lost affection.

The development of this project began with the selection of a location that could naturally embody the mood we aimed to convey. We chose a street in Mollet del Vallés, a small town near Barcelona, known for its quiet, somewhat desolate atmosphere, which perfectly matched the emotional tone we were seeking. This particular street was photographed with careful attention to detail, capturing the natural shadows and the eerie stillness of the setting. Once we had the raw image, we moved into the post-production phase using Photoshop. Here, we meticulously enhanced the image, deepening the shadows and adjusting the color balance to achieve the desired dark, melancholic effect. We also added subtle textural elements to further emphasize the theme of isolation and loss. The final result is a cover design that not only represents a physical place but also serves as a powerful visual metaphor for broken love—a love that, once separated, leaves behind an empty, haunting silence.
